You will be met at the Airport and driven to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe depending on your time of arrival.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Kampala- Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls
(6-7hrs)

Our safari day starts with your guide picking you up at your hotel at 6.30am. Drive 176km north of Kampala on the Gulu high way to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary which is the only place you will find the critically endangered Rhinos in the wild within Uganda. This walk, in search for the Rhinos, will take us 1-2 hours.

We shall have lunch and continue to Murchison falls National Park.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

We are out in the jungle early before the crack of dawn in search of the big elusive cats in an open safari vehicle. With the skillful eyes of your guide, you are likely to spot the Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Giraffe, Elephant, Oribi and Hartebeest just to mention a few.

Following your lunch at the lodge, we shall go for a cruise on the Nile waters to view the gigantic Nile crocodiles (which are the biggest in the world), Hippos cooling off from the heat as well as Buffalos and Elephants (which can be seen at the river banks) and a stunning array of charming birds dotting our skies as we sail to the base of the Murchison Falls.

For greater action, we stop at the base of Murchison and take a guided hike to the top of the falls.  In addition to the amazing scenery, you will also be able to view Uhuru Falls.  You will be in awe while viewing glorious Murchison Falls which has the most powerful water surge in the world!

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park (8-9hrs)

We are up early to start our journey after breakfast. Watch the varied vegetation and beautiful scenery as we travel not missing the mesmerizing view of the rising sun.

You will have lunch en-route, before arriving at your camp/ lodge in the evening, to catch the great sunset view.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

A nice breakfast makes an energetic start for your search for the forest habitants.  Spend half the day in this well adorned forest with great sights of the various species of Colobus monkeys and baboons.

We shall walk through the flat landscape while listening to the melodies of the lovely forest birds as we search for our closest family relation the endangered chimpanzees. Your senses will be all on alert as you are called to see, feel, hear and smell the forest.

In the afternoon, go to Bigodi swamp for a community walk that makes a great day for birders and helps alleviate the locals in the conservation of their environment.  You will have fantastic photo opportunities and really get a sense for a different type of landscape in Uganda.

Day 5: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
(3-4hrs)

Following your breakfast we drive out of Kibale forest National Park with spectacular views of the “mountains of the moon” the Rwenzori Mountain ranges as we head for a nature walk at “Amabeere ga nyina mwiru” literally meaning the breasts of Mwiru’s mother.

The Stalactites and Stalagmites have a lot of legendary and history attached as will be told by the local guide.

Have our lunch break in Fort Portal town and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hrs).

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

All awake by 6:30am in time to warm up with a hot cup of tea.  After a hot breakfast hop into your vehicle and begin your day of safari adventures!

Your drive will take you through herds of buffalo, elephants, and variety of antelope species. The search for the big cats, as they hunt down their prey, will continue throughout the day with the help of African Big Five Safari’s well trained guide.

Have your lunch at the Mweya peninsula where you’re bound to have a few warthogs as your guests.

After lunch you will head to the channel track for a momentous 2- hour cruise along the 40km Kazinga channel. This natural channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George comes with an astounding population of Hippos wading in the cool waters.

There is a good chance you will also see buffalo and elephants beating off the afternoon heat along the channel banks.

A striking variety and number of bird species will make your day complete.  The captain of the boat will also have his eyes peeled for the elusive monitor lizards as well!

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (5-6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive out of Queen Elizabeth heading further south to the beautiful terraced mountainous range in this region. Have lunch en-route. Have an early dinner as you prepare your body and soul for the next day’s Gorilla trek.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Arise early to the humming forest sounds of this ancient jungle for your breakfast.  With your packed lunch, we will go for the pre-trek briefing from the rangers who will tell you what to expect in the jungle.

Your trek may last anywhere from three to eight hours depending on where the gorillas are resting on any particular day. Therefore, your physical stamina is greatly required and this trek will definitely test your fitness abilities.

There are local porters that can be hired who will personally help carry your backpack and camera gear.  By hiring a porter you will be contributing directly to the surrounding community as well as receiving personalized assistance while maneuvering through the Impenetrable Forest!

All of your spent energy will be completely revived once you come within ears reach of the mighty mountain gorilla.  Once your ranger locates the family of gorillas your group will have an entire hour to observe and photograph the incredible scenes that will take place before your eyes.

Once the hour of viewing the gorillas is completed, your rangers and entire group will begin the journey back to camp.

During your dinner, you will openly talk about your jungle experiences with other travelers. In all, Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is a memory to last your lifetime!

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park

Today, check out after breakfast and travel to Lake Mburo National park passing through contrasting landscapes of hilly and mountainous terrain to finally the flat savannah grasslands.

Have lunch in Mbarara. Continue to the park with a game drive enroute to our accommodation.

Lake Mburo is the best park to see gigantic eland antelopes, herds of zebra, topi, sitatunga and for birds among over 300 species you may see include, pelicans, black crake, cormorant, harrier hawk, barefaced go-away bird, papyrus gonalek, and the rare shoebill stork.

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park – Departure

Rise early and we are out for a resourceful and rewarding nature walk in company of an armed guide. Starting as early as 6am, to have the natural feel of nature in this park you will be able to see the little creatures you would not see while in the vehicle. We may see the leopard and the very rare sitatunga during this walk.

Drive out of the park and our next stop will be at the Equator in Masaka. The equator is an invisible hot line that separates the northern hemisphere from the south. Take memorable photographs and buy colorful local crafts here.

Drive to Entebbe for your out bound flight. Or depending on the time of your flight, spend a night at your accommodation in Entebbe.
